When I’m out and about, I’m constantly drawing people and faces. Not actually on paper or a device, but in my head, in my imagination.
Sometimes nature makes faces for me ~ like this hardware on a fence.
Here are more wonderful faces I found around the neighborhood. . .
After my early morning biking and walking, I try to allow some time to stretch. I like this end-of-exercise ritual because it feels good, and it’s a wee bit of a reward for getting myself out of a warm, lazy bed and out into the world.
I love lingering outdoors for those few extra minutes to notice all sorts of details around me (the sky getting lighter, the shapes and movement of the clouds, the birdsong, the foliage throughout the different seasons) before I dive into all that awaits me for the day. I use that time to center myself and set my intentions.
One day, I was doing a calf stretch by hanging my feet off the curb. I needed to hold on to a tree branch to keep my balance. I was examining the bark, the leaves, and just generally enjoying this beautiful tree when all of a sudden… I noticed this face!
Hard to believe, but it’s the truth: Months later, I was stretching again at that same tree, and Wow! There’s a profile of a man! With his hat, eye patch, and mustache, he looks like silhouette art from the 1700’s.
The leaves and flowers hanging from the branches in front of the early morning sun created this shadow of a face on the tree trunk.
Have you ever been going along with your day (and maybe not in such a good mood), when all of a sudden you see art in an unexpected way? That is such a gift! A gift from the Universe to you.
That’s why I have my motto: Find Art In Every Day.
I hope sharing these gifts from the Universe will inspire you to find some art in your day.
