Anyone who’s made changes on their home for maintenance, fixing, repairing, refreshing, cleaning out, sprucing up, any of those sorts of things knows all about the disruption it causes to daily routines. Especially when tradesmen are hired to complete various projects within a tight schedule and a limited budget. It’s a horrible process while going through it, but very rewarding when it’s done.

Winter ~ Afternoon Laundry
I’m a summer person, so I’m not thrilled when December rolls around because it’s cold - well, cold to me (yes, even here in Southern California). Don’t laugh at me, those of you who live where winter is really cold (snow! ice! windshield scrapers!).
In winter, I have to wear extra layers of clothing, and I’m not happy about it because it creates too much laundry. But I guess I could say I’m happy about saving money by not putting on the heater just yet.

I get up really early every morning to ride my bike. I like to do various routes and levels of difficulty, so I drive to different neighborhoods close to where I live.
This morning was particularly cold, so I was pedaling faster than usual to be done with it, and get back to my car. But I slowed down to look at a charming house with glowing multi-colored Christmas lights and fanciful ornaments.
As I coasted by, the most tantalizing breakfast smells wafted all around me. I just wanted to throw down my bike, run into that warm, cozy kitchen, sit down, and dig in!
